THE KITCHEN , NEW YORK, 2004

A limited palette of materials - fluorescent lights, gels, paint and signage - redefine and bring unity to performance space The Kitchen's lobby, stairs and elevator. A 'light zipper' directs traffic towards the theater's two doors, while providing a warm glow. Given tight budgetary, scheduling, and spatial constraints, our modest 1st phase renovation was approached with conceptual and material economy, with the object of creating maximum effect. Budget for materials: $5,000; built by The Kitchen.
